Most people like to add fruit to their salads and eat them along with their meal, while some prefer to enjoy them in their desserts after a meal. According to Ayurveda, eating fruits with or after food must be avoided as it can lead to the formation of toxins. It is always best to eat fruits alone and not with or after meals.

According to ancient medical practice, fresh fruits, which are easier to digest than other foods that are part of our diet, can create toxins if they last longer than our system needs.

“From an ayurvedic point of view, fresh fruit is considered to be much easier and easier to digest – relatively easy than other foods. When it is eaten with (or after) heavy foods, it stays in the stomach for a long time until the heavy food is digested. “Excessively boiled” begins to ferment (think of a bucket of ripe fruit sitting in the sun) “explains Dr. Deeksha Bhavsar, an ayurvedic expert.

This leads to the formation of food toxins, which can lead to digestive problems.

Ayurvedic experts say that the best time is one hour before eating fruits or two hours after eating. “Fruits can be enjoyed as a snack (if you have good digestion) or as your own (without adding anything) snack,” she says.

Also, although Ayurveda does not recommend mixing fruits in milk, ripe mangoes and avocados can be mixed with milk. Dr. Bhavsar said bananas and all kinds of berries should not be eaten with milk.
