Eagle-eyed Marvel fans believe that Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield edited the new Spider-Man: No Way home trailer released on Wednesday. The money filmed at the end of the three-minute trailer shows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man flying towards the three villains — Electro, Sandman, and Lizard — and fans certainly have versions of the Maguire and Garfield characters in this shot as well. Up.
It has long been rumored that No Way Home will reintroduce two older versions of the superhero, as the film’s premise will be about opening the doors to the Multiverse with the help of Holland’s Peter Parker Dr. Strange. The appearance of several villains from those series has fueled speculation.
Now, with the release of two trailers and several ‘leaked’ films, fans are sure that Garfield and Holland’s repeated denials about this theory are bogus. Many fans shared screenshots from the trailer and pointed out that Electro and Lizard appear to be charging in different directions, indicating that they are engaging in solo battles with characters being removed from the trailer.
People also noticed the lizard appear to have been hit, clearly, no one saw, indicating that the shot had been tampered with. They backed up these claims by going back to the leaked images from the sets showing Garfield and Maguire. Some fans said that the scaffolding in those pictures would fit the location in the trailer. Maguire starred as a superhero in the trilogy of films directed by Sam Raimi, while Garfield starred as Spider-Man in two films directed by Mark Webb.
Spider-Man: No Way Home features Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Willem Daffo as Green Goblin, Thomas Hadden Church as Sandman, and Rice Ifans as Lizard. Hollande said in an interview that the film unites the ‘three generations’ of Spider-Man characters, and director Joan Watts described the film as ‘Spider-Man: Endgame’, highlighting its epic scope.
