At least five members of the family of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput were killed in a road accident on National Highway No. 333 in Lakhisarai district of Bihar on Tuesday morning.
Family members attending the funeral of Haryana senior police officer OP Singh’s sister Geeta Devi are returning from Patna. OP Singh is the brother-in-law of Sushant Singh Rajput who died under suspicious circumstances on June 14, 2020.
Police Confirms that the accident was near an upgrade middle school at Pipra under the Halsi police station, Lakhisarai Superintendent of Police (SP) Sushil Kumar said, “It was a massive collision between a truck and sumo [an SUV] with ten people on board. Coming back from Patna. He said six people, including the sumo driver, died on the spot and four others were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Two of the injured Balmukund Singh and Dil Khush Singh were sent to Patna for better treatment while the other two Balmiki Singh and Tonu Singh were admitted to Lakhisarai District Hospital. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Lakhisarai Hospital for postmortem.
The deceased have been identified as Laljit Singh (Opi Singh Bawa), his two sons Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh and Ram Chandra Singh. The rest were identified as Baby Devi, Anita Devi and driver Pritam Kumar. The relationship with the Kumar family has not yet been confirmed.
Police said their vehicle collided with an oncoming truck while returning home with the family at Bhandar village in Jamui district.
